Who should attend?

The courses are relevant for individuals/teams that work with disabled people or have direct contact with the general public. This may be through marketing/fundraising events, management, customer services and human resources or within other public services.

Why we do what we do:

To inform and support service providers in moving towards their legal obligation to make their services accessible to people with disabilities. Our training will help them understand the needs of disabled people and improve the service they offer.

  • To provide sensory and disability awareness training that is inspiring, fun and thought provoking.
  • To encourage people to think about the person behind the disability and what living with a physical and sensory disability is like.
  • To challenge the attitudes, perceptions and expectations of both the disabled people and society as a whole.

All of our training courses include:

  • Full training with highly qualified trainers
  • Free support folder
  • Resource materials (where needed)
  • Reference materials
  • Worksheets
  • Useful addresses
  • Post-training support and consultancy by email or telephone
  • EnhanceUK Certificate of Attendance
  • Evaluation form

  • Develop an understanding of the barriers that disabled people experience when accessing services and be aware of how these might be addressed.

We regularly evaluate all aspects of our provision and seek to improve its quality continuously by:

  • Self-assessment

  • Monitoring and reviewing
  • Sharing good practice

Diversity

  • We aim to provide all participants with an opportunity to achieve their potential regardless of age, disability, learning or communication preferences.
  • Accessibility for disabled participants.

We have a proven track record in delivering high quality training to the public and private sectors and use a combination of training and consultancy in order to achieve DDA compliance.

Training and affiliated vocational practitioners

  • We are a professional, experienced team with education, training, counseling, mentoring and business backgrounds.
  • All of our associate trainers and affiliated vocational practitioners are professionally qualified.
  • We aim to ensure that you are offered high quality teaching and learning.

Participant Feedback

  • We take an active part in monitoring quality and standards by providing regular feedback on the content, management and delivery of all of our courses.

We believe there is a lack of support for people with disabilities who do not need personal care yet, would benefit from a support system to help them maintain their independence.

Complaints

  • We aim to achieve the highest possible standards in all of our training and services, however if you feel you have grounds for complaint then please outline your complaint in writing to us.
  • All complaints will be responded to, in writing, within seven days.
  • If you are unable to tell us in a letter, we will arrange for a face to face interview, with appropriate communication support.
